Incredible performance and blistering acceleration; technical sophistication; exclusivity; luxury appointments
Lamborghini's 2020 Aventador has the Bolognese-based carmaker signature scissor-doors and the mid-engine supercar platform. The sleek, sharp-edged machine cuts a sinister profile that says much about its capabilities on the road. The stiff monocoque chassis is made entirely of carbon fiber--a Lamborghini first--and the body is a mix of carbon fiber and aluminum, with a 3-position rear wing that deploys at different speeds.
The Lamborghini Aventador comes in 4 four possible variants: the Aventador S, S Roadster, SVJ and SVJ Roadster.
The heart of the Aventador--as is the case with every Lamborghini--is its engine. The car is powered by a mid-mounted 6.5L V12. The engine features variable valve timing and a dry sump lubrication system, which allows it to sit lower in the car for an improved center of gravity. The big V12 produces 729 hp and 507 ft-lb of torque in the Aventador S and 770 hp & 531 ft-lb of torque in the SVJ models.
All that power is put to the road through a smart all-wheel-drive system and a 7-speed sequential manual transmission capable of near-instantaneous shifts.
The Aventador rides on alloy wheels (20-inches front, 21-inches rear) and Pirelli PZero tires, with large carbon ceramic disc brakes providing stopping power. Suspension is an advanced system fitted inboard via pushrod monotube dampers, much like the setup found on open-wheel race cars.
The cockpit is an exercise in race-car-for-the-street ergonomics. All instrumentation is displayed on an LCD screen, with a separate LCD 7-inch touchscreen for the navigation and stereo system. Interior surfaces are leather and available in nearly any color combination, thanks to Lamborghini's "Ad Personam" customer individualization program.
The Aventador comes more standard convenient features such as dual-zone climate control, remote keyless entry, one-touch power windows, front and rear parking sensors, leather sport steering wheel, USB port and Bluetooth integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Driver-controlled electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes are standard, as is cabin full of intelligent airbags.
The hyper performance-oriented Aventador Superveloce takes the ridiculous speed of the Aventador to another level. Magnetic adaptive suspension makes the LP750-4 handle even flatter and more responsively. Weight savings have been taken everywhere; Lamborghini removed sound deadening, floor carpeting and the entertainment system.
The interior is much more like a race car-- spare and bare-bones. The Superveloce gets an even more powerful version of the V12, this one's good for 770 horsepower. The result is a hard-core speed monster designed for the most well-heeled car buyers out there.
For 2020, Lamborghini presents the convertible variant of the SVJ, which was notably introduced last year at the Geneva auto show.
The 2020 Aventador is the latest, greatest supercar offering from Lamborghini. The car is a tour-de-force of technology and internal combustion. Few other cars exist in the stratosphere of performance and exclusivity in which the Aventador lives. In comparison, the McLaren MP4-12-C costs less, but it has four fewer cylinders and can't match the Aventador for sheer performance. While the Bugatti Veyron boasts nearly double the power, it also quadruples the Aventador's price. When examined next to its competition, the Aventador is a bona-fide performance bargain in an extraordinary category.

Summary:
Lamborghini (Automobili Lamborghini) is recalling certain 2020 Aventador SVJ Coupe and Aventador SVJ Roadster vehicles. Due to potentially damaged aluminum frame threads, the front frame suspension arm anchor bolt may have been insufficiently tightened.
Consequence:
The loose suspension arm anchor bolts may cause the suspension arm joint to collapse, resulting in a loss of control of the vehicle and increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
Remedy:
All of the affected vehicles are in dealer possession and owner letters do not need to be mailed. Dealers will inspect and replace the front frame, free of charge. The recall began October 8, 2020.
