Twin turbo V8 engine; 2.8 second 0-60; 212mph top speed; exotic styling; dynamic drive settings with live data; luxurious interior
With its starting price the 720S is priced with the best exotics out there. The Ford GT, Ferrari 488 GTB, and Lamborghini Aventador all come in at similar price points. Luckily, the 720s features next-generation technology that meets and, in some cases, beats the competition, including a new carbon fiber Monocell II chassis design. On the body, each and every line and curve has a purpose, making best use of any airflow, whether it's venting the brakes, spooling turbochargers, or providing aerodynamic downforce. With luxurious interior amenities and dynamic driving modes that make driving on normal roads a breeze paired with all the F1 technology McLaren is willing to share, the 720S more than justifies its price tag.
The 2020 McLaren 720S features a rear-mounted twin-turbo 4.0L V8 power plant producing 710 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque, pushing the 720S 0-60mph easily under three seconds. Mated with a 7-speed SSG transmission shifted via steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters and offered in rear-wheel drive. The adaptive suspension is controlled via McLaren's Proactive Chassis Control II offering Sport, Comfort and Race modes.
The 720s can be configured in three trims: Standard, Performance and Luxury matched with either the coupe or spider convertible variation.
he 720S comes well-equipped with luxurious amenities for a supercar. Standard features include Alcantara seating, heated electronically controlled wing mirrors, cruise control, automatic LED headlights, LED sequential taillights, dual-zone climate control, parking sensors, an 8-inch infotainment system, a 4-speaker audio system, Bluetooth for hands free connectivity, staggered 19-inch wheels and two USB ports.
Luxury trim adds a few unique interior and exterior options particularly surrounded around material construction for body and interior trim. Standout features include interior and engine bay ambient lighting, McLaren Luxury Interior leather seat material options and heated memory bucket seats.
The Performance model brings the 720S down to its lowest possible weight and includes a carbon fiber hood, air intakes, door mirror casings, rear fender air intakes and carbon fiber interior component paneling.
Stand-alone options include: Carbon fiber seats, a power adjustable steering column, interior ambient lighting, a Bowers & Wilkins 12-speaker audio system, McLaren Track telemetry with lap-time functionality, four front and rear parking sensors, 360 degree parking assist, a vehicle lift for those in urban areas, a volumetric alarm upgrade and a vehicle tracker. The 720S is also highly customizable with cast or forged variations of seven wheels, over 30 different exterior colors, and eight brake caliper color choices.
For 2020, the McLaren 720S gets no significant changes to the lineup.

Potential Number Of Units Affected:

Summary:
McLaren Automotive Incorporated (McLaren) is recalling certain 2016-2020 720S, 2019 Senna, 2020 GT, and 2017-2019 570GT vehicles. The Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) foam pad underneath the fuel tank may retain moisture and corrode the fuel tank, potentially causing a fuel leak.
Consequence:
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy:
McLaren will notify owners, and dealers will remove the NVH foam pad from the vehicle and inspect the fuel tank. If the fuel tank is found to have corrosion, it will be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began June 17, 2020. Owners may contact McLaren's Client Services department at 855-202-8815, Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm EST or customerservice.na@mclaren.com.
